What Is Short Term Accommodation (STA)?

Short Term Accommodation, also known as respite, is an NDIS-funded support that allows a participant to stay somewhere other than their usual home for a short period usually up to 14 days in a row. It covers the cost of accommodation, personal care, and any supports the participant needs during their stay. STA gives carers a genuine break while giving participants a chance to experience new environments, build independence, and socialise. STA funding sits under Core Supports in your NDIS plan and can be used flexibly alongside your other Core Support funding.

What Does My Core Support Provide Under STA?

Our STA services are designed to feel like a real break not just a place to stay. Our support workers can help with:

Personal care showering, grooming, dressing, hygiene

How to Arrange STA at My Core Support

Call or email and tell us about the participant and what you’re looking for. We’ll do a needs assessment, confirm funding and arrangements with your plan manager, and introduce the participant to their support team. After the stay, we check in with both the participant and family to make sure it worked well.
