What This Support Is About
We support participants to reduce behaviours of concern and improve quality of life in a safe and respectful way. Our approach is grounded in positive behaviour support (PBS) principles, focusing on understanding the underlying causes of behaviour rather than simply managing symptoms. We work collaboratively with participants, families and allied health professionals to implement evidence based strategies that promote independence, safety and wellbeing, while making sure any use of restrictive practices is lawful, transparent and regularly reviewed.

What We Provide
Implementation of Behaviour Support Plans: Our support workers are trained to deliver strategies outlined in your Behaviour Support Plan consistently and effectively, in line with best practice guidelines.
Support with behaviours of concern: Practical, compassionate assistance to help manage and reduce behaviours of concern, focused on de-escalation and long term positive outcomes.
Collaboration with families and therapists: We work closely with your support network, including behaviour support practitioners, allied health professionals and family members, to keep a consistent, coordinated approach.
Monitoring and reporting: Ongoing documentation and reporting on behaviour patterns and plan effectiveness, helping to inform reviews and making sure strategies remain appropriate over time.
APO support for restrictive practices approvals: Guidance and support through the Authorised Program Officer (APO) process, making sure any restrictive practices are appropriately authorised, monitored and reduced wherever possible.

Behaviour Support is a specialist NDIS service that helps participants who display behaviours of concern by addressing the underlying causes and developing strategies to improve their quality of life, safety and independence.
A Behaviour Support Plan is a document developed by a qualified behaviour support practitioner. It outlines proactive strategies, triggers to be aware of and response strategies to help reduce behaviours of concern and support positive outcomes.
Restrictive practices are actions that restrict a person’s rights or freedom of movement, such as physical or chemical restraint. They’re only used as a last resort, under strict regulation and must be authorised and regularly reviewed to make sure they’re lawful and in the participant’s best interest.
Support workers, family members and carers can implement a Behaviour Support Plan once it’s been developed by a qualified practitioner. At My Core Support, our staff are trained to deliver these plans consistently and safely.
We collaborate closely with your treating behaviour support practitioner, sharing observations, reporting on progress and making sure strategies outlined in your plan are followed accurately, so everyone involved in your care is working toward the same goals.
