NDIS Short Term Accommodation & Respite in Melbourne

Every carer needs a break sometimes, and every NDIS participant deserves a safe, comfortable place to stay when that break happens. My Core Support provides Short Term Accommodation and Respite (STA/STR) across Melbourne, giving participants a change of scene and their families or carers genuine time to rest, recover or simply catch up on life.

Whether it is a planned weekend away for carers, an emergency situation where usual support is not available, or a short stay that helps a participant build confidence and independence away from home, we structure respite around what actually helps, not a one-size-fits-all stay. Support during that time can include personal care, daily living assistance and participation in activities agreed to in advance, all delivered by the same standard of qualified, vetted staff as our ongoing support services.

As a registered NDIS provider under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, we deliver STA/STR to participants across Melbourne living with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disabilities.

Call (03) 9087 2100 to discuss short term accommodation or respite, or request a callback and we will respond within one business day.

Why Melbourne families choose My Core Support for respite

  • Genuine relief for carers: We understand respite is not a luxury. It is often essential for carers to keep caring sustainably.
  • Consistency where it matters: Where possible, participants are supported by staff they already know, so a respite stay does not mean starting over with unfamiliar faces.
  • Flexible, not rigid: We plan respite around real circumstances, planned breaks, emergencies or trial stays to build independence.
  • Fully qualified and vetted staff: Current First Aid certification and Working With Children Checks across the team.
  • Registered NDIS provider: Meeting NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.

Eligibility generally applies to participants who live with, or receive substantial daily support from, primary informal carers such as family. Specific criteria can include high-intensity support needs, complex behaviour support needs, or carers who are stressed, unwell, ageing or juggling other caring responsibilities.
